- Build your web pages…
- Static Web Pages: These are pages whose content is always the same unless the web master makes changes (i.e. a new phone number or a new image).
- Dynamic Web Pages: These are pages whose content will change depending on the actions of the visitor to your web site. For instance, you may have a catalog of cooking recipes on your web site. The user may want to look at only those recipes involving asparagus. The user will select asparagus, click, and the web site will display only those recipes that include asparagus. The user might then decide to look at recipes involving apples. The user selects apple, clicks, and the same page that displayed asparagus recipes now displays apple recipes. Dynamic web pages are desired anytime the web site visitor needs to select a subset of items from a large number of items.
- Dynamic web pages are used in web site shopping carts. Should you choose to sell merchandise from your web site, you will be using dynamic web pages.
- Install encryption to ensure the safety of your customers when credit card transactions occur.
- Obtain your domain name. The domain name is the official interent name of your web site. For instance, ours is dwwsites.com, google's is google.com. Should you already own a domain name we will use your existing name. If you do not have a domain name, we can help you obtain one.
- Install your web site on a web host's server (computer). This installation is the beginning of life for your new web site.
- Maintain your site. Whether your site needs once per year maintenance or once per day maintenance, DWW will take care of you.
- Design your web site for maximum exposure to the search engines (google, for instance). Google uses algorithms to determine which web sites show at the top of their search results page. Some factors that can help you get google's attention stem from web site design. We build web sites designed to get google's attention. This does not assure you a top spot in google's search results. Google looks at many factors, and one of the crititcal factors is the number of visitor hits to your web site. The more visitors that click to your web site, the higher your site will be in google search results. In essence, as your business grows you will see an increasing number of hits to your web site. Google measures the number of hits and moves you up the search results list accordingly. There is one other way to get to the top of google. You can elect to pay large sums of money to get to the top of the search results (there's a reason that google is a very successful company).
